Peregrine worked a simple path to modernize this F-51D Mustang.

A serial-number specific approved engineering data package was created to add the following equipment:

 

Garmin GMA35C Audio Panel

Garmin GTN750Xi GPS/NAV/COM

Garmin GTN650Xi GPS/NAV/COM

Garmin GTX345R ADS-B IN/OUT Transponder

Garmin Class III GI275 ADI

Garmin Class III GI275 HSI

 

This data package allowed for a one-off installation without the expense of an STC and the paperwork was produced in the same amount of time as the installation.

 

Filed approvals are harder to come by, and this engineering package is an efficient way to allow technically advanced avionics to get installed on aircraft that are not approved by an existing STC.
